Non-Member Sign-up Process

Though CAN welcomes Non-Members to participate in our lists, those wishing to sign-up are subject to an additional process. If you are not affiliated with CAN, please follow the instructions below to submit a full application for participation.

Working Group Lists

  1. Submit an application via the sign-up form, indicating your Non-Member status and your current affiliation.

  2. The individual should petition the Working Group coordinator of his/her interest to join the list.

  3. The Working Group coordinator will make a determination as to the appropriateness of the person joining the list and will then contact the CAN-International Secretariat as well as the relevant regional node coordinator to determine if there are any concerns from them.

  4. Assuming no concerns are raised, the Working Group coordinator will send an email to the Working Group list with the proposal to add the individual to the list with an appropriate amount of time for Working Group members to raise any concerns.

  5. If no concerns are raised, the individual may be added to the list after signing the Non CAN Member Confidentiality Agreement, which should be returned to the listserv administrator.

 

CAN-Talk

  1. Submit an application via the sign-up form, indicating your Non-Member status and your current affiliation.

  2. The individual should be prepared to provide two references -- one from their Regional or National Node and one from a Member Organization outside their Node -- to join the list.

  3. The applicant should then contact the list administrator to obtain a reference and confientiality form.

  4. Once the form is received, the references will be checked (this may take some time depending upon the response rate of the references). Upon approval from the references, the applicant will be subscribed and introduced to the list.
